Protect Your Dock Before the Ice Sets β€” The Airmax Ice Eater De-Icer

Tired of ice damage costing you time and money every winter? Protect docks, boats, and shorelines with the Airmax Ice Eater. Designed for ponds, lakes, and marinas, the Ice Eater circulates warmer subsurface water to the surface β€” creating continuous water movement that prevents ice formation and melts existing ice.

A powerful motor and propeller draw warmer water from below and direct it outward for effective circulation. Built for dependable performance in harsh conditions, the Ice Eater maintains an ice-free area up to 80 feet in diameter with a durable bronze end-bell and rugged housing built to handle extreme winter temperatures.

Choose from 1/2 to 1 HP motors in 115V (with plug) or 3/4 & 1 HP 230V models (bare wires without plug), with power cords ranging from 25' to 200'. The Ice Eater arrives fully assembled with mooring lines, stainless steel hardware, and a sacrificial anode included.

For best performance, operate in at least 24 inches of water with 12 inches of clearance from the bottom β€” and run it before the ice sets for maximum results.

Airmax Ice Eater De-Icer features including up to 80 ft ice-free area, fully assembled design, saltwater compatibility and 3-year warranty

Which Ice Eater Size Do I Need?

Think of it like a circle of open water around your dock. The bigger the motor, the bigger the circle. Here's what each model clears on an average winter day:

1/2 HP β€” P500

Clears a 40-foot circle of open water. Great for protecting a single boat slip or small dock.

3/4 HP β€” P750

Clears a 60-foot circle of open water. A solid choice for mid-size docks, multiple slips, or larger boats.

1 HP β€” P1000

Clears an 80-foot circle of open water. The go-to for large docks, full marinas, piers, and commercial waterfront properties.

*Results are based on average winter conditions. Actual coverage may vary depending on your water temperature, local climate, and current.

When to Use the Airmax Ice Eater

The Ice Eater is built to protect docks, piers, marinas, and boats from ice and ice damage. Without protection, ice can twist your dock and even pull pilings completely out of the ground β€” causing thousands of dollars in damage overnight.

Many boat owners pull their boats from the water during winter, paying for wrapping, storage, and the time it takes to do it. The Ice Eater is a smarter alternative β€” keeping your boat in the water, protected from ice scratches and punctures, and ready to launch the moment an unseasonably warm day rolls around. You can't get back on the water at a moment's notice if your boat is wrapped up in storage.

The 1 HP Ice Eater clears an area as large as 80 feet β€” more than enough to protect your assets before the ice sets.

Saltwater Applications

The included Sacrificial Aluminum Anode should be installed for corrosion protection in saltwater applications. Additional anodes are available separately.

For areas of high salinity, brackish water, high electrical current, or warm waters, a Saltwater Electrolysis Kit can be added as a secondary anode. The kit straps two aluminum anode halves around the motor β€” check every 2-3 months and replace when reduced to half their original size.

Optional Thermostat Controller

Have direct control over your Ice Eater with the Airmax Thermostat. The thermostat controls power to the Ice Eater using ambient air temperature. Set the thermostat to your desired temperature and your Ice Eater will turn on and off automatically as temperatures rise and fall β€” ensuring your de-icer runs only when needed.
