Outdoor Water Solutions 1/2″ Weighted Airline (Various Lengths)

This 1/2″ Weighted Airline is a thick, rubberized, self-sinking hose designed to deliver maximum airflow between your aeration system and air diffusers. Ideal for use with windmills, solar aerators, and medium-distance runs with electric aerators, this airline provides reliable performance across a range of pond and lake setups.

Made from high-quality, flexible rubber, this airline sinks on its own—no weights needed—and ensures minimal friction loss, even over longer distances. Purchasing longer rolls allows for custom lengths without splicing, making installation easier and more efficient.

Engineered for durability and peak performance, it’s the trusted choice for all pond and lake aeration systems.

  • Thick, rubberized, self-sinking airline
  • Weighted design keeps tubing on the bottom of the pond
  • Compatible with all aeration systems
  • Maximizes airflow between electric, solar, or windmill aerators and air diffusers
  • Prevents tangling with fishing lines, boat motors, and more
  • Long-lasting performance thanks to high-quality construction
  • Reduced friction loss from larger diameter—ideal for longer runs

Available in the following sizes:

  • 50 feet
  • 100 feet
  • 500 feet

What is the Difference Between Weighted and Non-weighted Airlines?

The key difference between weighted and non-weighted airline for aeration systems comes down to where the airline is used. If you're running airline above ground, a non-weighted airline is suitable. However, if you're running airline from the shoreline to your airstone or rubber membrane diffuser, you should use weighted airline. Weighted airline stays submerged and in place, while non-weighted airline floats and is difficult to manage underwater. Investing in weighted airline will save you the hassle of forcing a non-weighted line to do a job it wasn’t designed for.

When running airline from your aeration system to the water’s edge, we recommend burying it. Exposed airline can be cut by careless landscaping, damaged by heavy equipment, or chewed by animals. To avoid the headache of discovering a hole in your airline, bury it during installation. It doesn’t need to be deep—4 to 6 inches is enough to protect it. For added protection in high-risk areas, you can encase the airline in PVC before burying it.
